FD19 - Advise when placing new orders for 2019+
If you care about free camping / off grid camping then you will find that the FD19's AUX charge circuit under performs. Options are to replace the circuitry or upgrade the solar charging power (or do both).
Jayco and BMPRO have recently released the BMPRO designed customised J35D which can charge Lithium batteries. Because the FD19 is so small (and I like small) a Lithium battery with a 250W solar panel seems to be the way to go on the FD19 or otherwise the antenna may have to be moved. Does anybody know if 250W panels as per this link are up to scratch. I have not seen any motorhome manufacturers offering them.
I trust Jayco have been sensitised a year ago. At least they have to be seen doing the right thing. If more people lodge complaints it will carry weight. On the other hand its Jayco's chance to revise the metrics on the FD19 campervan, so that 2 panels with a lithium battery can be fitted. I quite love my compact baby van cause I can weasel around quite easily. https://www.abc.net.au/.../jayco-faces-court.../9206286
