The Mt Lion Family Farm collective is run by a group of ca 100 co-owners that bought farmlets on the bricklet platform
Update 12 Dec 2025
We bought a farm at Mount Lion, NSW in Dec 2022 and started farming in 2023. Our property stretches well into the forrest of Mt Lion NSW, Australia.
As a syndicate we pay a resident farmer to work the farm and we handle all operational decisions and put in sweat energy to organise working bees and social events. We are very proud of our syntropic garden that we plant and harvest ourselves.
Review 3 years later
It's been much harder than we all thought to run a farm collective on democratic principles with 137 co-owners making all substantial operative decisions by vote. After going through the first two storms our farm has developed reasonably well under a highly committed volunteer leadership. We have a farmer, are independent and debt free and produce healthy food. But we are still not commercially viable and we have an ongoing internal problem with factions. I wished I could say we are stable, but NO, we are now going through our third major storm !
