Travel tips Australia
Whether travelling in a station wagon or a big RV the rest stops along Australia's highways are a great way to get free overnight accommodation and on the next day move on fast to the next destination. Not all of them have toilets, such as this one in miles. Mobile internet reception can be a huge challenge. Many rest spots are near remote town however. Miles has worked extremely well for me. I always look at the bars on my phone and combine it with a speed test. I have seen anything from 1 MBPS to 100 MBPS and it often varies dramatically with the time of the day. Consider buying a booster or possible satellite based technology.
Moree is surely a great Australian winter destination for Melbournians. With a 12 hours drive it's a bit more than half way to surfers paradise. Hot springs, mountain hiking and education for the kids. No sweat, temps from 15 to 20 degrees in July (day max). The sun is strong. I got a bit sun burned. Well, most Aussies know the movie the Dish. It can be seen in Parkes and has a great visitors centre showing amazing movies. Camping in this region gives you a sleeping under the stars experience like never before. And did you know there is a whole array of dishes (on rails) about 80 mins from Moree ? Great little visitor centre. Visit it in action, look at displays, Watch movies - all for free.
And at the end of the day its back to the hot pools at the caravan Park. As a matter of fact you can do a tour to various mineral bath locations in the area. Fees range from $5 to $33 to camp at a mineral bath site. Ask me for more info.

I'm staying at Gwydir cara park and thermal pools. It's a Mecca for grey nomads. The park looks like a display village for motor homes campervans and budget van / trailer setups, spawning budget to $100k+ rigs. At $33 for a powered site d $29 unpowered this is a great way to enjoy life and get some health benefits as well. Spa Pools and lap pools range from 29 to 39 degrees.
