PageBrosRV told me that Jayco offer extra solar panels factory fitted on their motorhomes. Dunno how many panels max. they have provision for and if the offer covers all motor homes. But how can we get Jayco's ear ? My van has a one way electric fridge and it should be reasonable to expect that it will run for a week without the battery going flat. Currently the van has enough space for a much larger panel and should have enough roof space for a second panel if Jayco reviews the roof top component layout.
A- Jayco's motor home prospectus is confusing !
Personalise your journey with optional extras that make your motorhome as individual as you are. Here are just a few: ... A 160 W solar system with regulator gives your motorhome power to spare ...
B- Jayco's Campervan prospectus raises false hope !
1- CONQUEST CAMPERVAN Offering prestigious features without the premium price tag, the Conquest ticks all the boxes.
2- THE FREEDOM TO TRAVEL WHERE YOU WANT, WHEN YOU WANT, FOR HOWEVER LONG YOU WANT.
3-Adventure is ready when you are... Ideal for solo trailblazers or dynamic duos, the Conquest Campervan lets you travel light to get you to where you want to go. Perfect for those wanting the features of a motorhome in the size of a campervan.
4- Jayco Campervan brochure - Self-contained living https://www.jayco.com.au/promo/campervans

What about the underpowered power supply system ? My fridge only runs on 12V and it needs to run while I drive. I have only set the thermostat to half and could end up in the orange / red battery charge zone.
4- Improvement proposal Install externally accessible connector socket (type cigarette lighter?) into the woodwork or skin of the van to allow the convenient wiring of a portable solar blanket into the battery under the bed. Access to battery is also available under the dinette in the cavity under the floor. Potentially a female Anderson plug could be connected to the house battery and fed through the finger hole to under the mattresses. Then all we have to do is feed the lead through a window (4 meters) to the panels. Useful if we the van is shaded by choice or necessity
PRODUCT REVIEW FD19 UPDATE - after 8 months 11 Dec 2018
My FD19 has done 11k in 8 months. I will keep the overall rating at 3 Stars. 1- Overall score 3 stars (3*) 2- Fiat score remains fine, handling 5*, design 4*, repairs no dramas 3- Jayco score down to 2* Not happy with freecamping capabilities - AUX solar system and battery are under powered. Jayco will not fix the wiring or install booster. Upgrade option at my own expense NOT available and zero support from Jayco or their dealerships to improve and/or upgrade the system via "unauthorised" third party technicians. Risk of loss of warranty ! ------------- Extract from Jayco promo @ https://www.jayco.com.au/promo/campervans Self-contained living Ideal for solo trailblazers or dynamic duos, the Conquest Campervan lets you travel light to get you to where you want to go.
